I’ve spent decades behind the drums as a professional drummer, recording artist, producer, and drum educator—recording, touring, performing, teaching, and helping other musicians bring songs to life. Along the way, I’ve recorded on more than 50 albums, performed on international stages, and had the privilege of playing with internationally recognized artists including Andy Summers (The Police), Bobby Kimball (Toto), Bill Champlin (Chicago), Kiko Loureiro (Megadeth/Angra), and Alex Ligertwood (Santana). My journey also includes a Latin GRAMMY nomination with Porpartes, a Gold Record with Escats on Sony BMG, speaking at TEDxPuraVida, and serving as the drummer for several TV Shows.Those experiences shaped a principle that became fundamental to DrumJoy: drum technique matters, timing matters, rhythm matters, reading matters, and coordination matters—but music is what gives all of those skills meaning. “I’ve been playing drums for almost 20 years, and over that time I’ve had several teachers who helped me grow in different areas. But for one reason or another, I would eventually stop taking lessons. Sometimes it was because I didn’t really connect with the teacher, and other times I just felt like I wasn’t making much progress.
