When I created We Can Books, I started with a simple question: How can we make learning to read more engaging, personal, and joyful for young children?
Building a four-volume personalized phonics series took me deep into how children learn to read and the evidence behind effective early literacy instruction. Since then, I've created more than 300 supporting reading activities and spent years thinking about what helps young children learn — and what gets in their way.
Along the way, I realized something just as important: parents desperately want to help, but often don't know what to do.
There's conflicting advice, unfamiliar terminology, pressure from school and the nagging worry that your child might be falling behind. Most parents don't need another curriculum — and they certainly don't need to become reading teachers themselves.
They need someone to help them understand what matters, what to do next, and when they can stop worrying.
That's why I created Confident Readers.
It brings together evidence-informed reading guidance, personalization and practical support in one place — helping you meet your child where they are without turning your home into a classroom.
My goal is simple: to help you feel confident helping your child become a confident reader.
