Moreover, it's a skill that most investors never fully master. Over the years, I’ve worked as a partner and head of research at two multi-billion hedge funds, analyzing hundreds of companies and training teams of analysts. But I also saw how even experienced professionals sometimes fail to separate great businesses from the rest, often missing subtle but critical signals.
That’s why I founded Behind the Balance Sheet: to share the frameworks, tools, and insights I developed through decades of hands-on experience. I’ve taught thousands of investors, from institutional professionals to ambitious amateurs, how to dig deeper in their company analysis.
One of the factors critical to their success has been the ability to think more analytically about business quality. I wanted to make these lessons even more accessible and actionable.
