For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the challenge of helping cello players achieve a beautiful, consistent tone. Over the past 27 years, I’ve taught students of every age and level—from complete beginners to advanced players who have gone on to elite institutions like Juilliard. My teaching journey has taken me across three continents and into lessons in both English and French, always with the same goal: to make the complexities of cello playing clear, practical, and accessible.
I didn’t start out as a music teacher. My early career was in a technical field, but my passion for music and teaching eventually pulled me in a new direction. I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelming cello can feel, especially when feedback is vague or abstract. That’s why I’ve dedicated my career to developing a coaching approach rooted in clarity, repetition, and focused correction—always informed by what the player actually does, not just what they’re told.
My background includes a degree in Music Performance (cello) from the United States, a Bachelor’s in Applied Sciences, and an MBA from France. I’m an award-winning cellist, a published author, and the founder of CelloCoach. For over 20 years, I’ve run a successful music studio, working with students from all over the world and helping them build the skills and confidence to play with better tone.
I created this app because I believe cello players need more than opinions—they need clear, actionable feedback and a reliable system for improvement. This app distills my teaching system into a simple, supportive experience: submit a short video, receive precise Coach Insights, understand your current status for each tone pillar, and track your progress as each pillar becomes more stable over time.
My hope is that this app gives you the clarity, structure, and encouragement you need to make real, lasting improvements in your cello tone—no matter where you’re starting from.
