Over those years, I witnessed the heartbreaking reality of tens of thousands of patients after significant disease had already taken hold. That experience shifted how I see medicine—and my role in it. I didn’t want to simply treat established disease and hope for the best—I wanted to be part of a global shift focused on helping people reduce their risk in the first place, or live better, stronger lives even after a diagnosis.
