"After years of refining my craft, I built this app to share the secrets of true realism"

David Rivera

David Rivera

Award-winning realist artist and educator, helping thousands of artists elevate their drawing and painting skills worldwide

My journey as an artist began with a fascination for the old masters and their ability to capture life with breathtaking accuracy. I spent countless hours studying classical techniques, often feeling overwhelmed by the sheer depth of knowledge required to achieve true realism. Over time, I realized that while tradition is essential, embracing modern tools and methods can unlock new creative possibilities.

As I developed my own style, I became passionate about teaching others. I’ve had the privilege of guiding students in workshops and online courses, witnessing firsthand the challenges artists face when trying to bridge the gap between timeless principles and today’s technology. Many struggle to find a clear, structured path that honors both tradition and innovation.

That’s why I created this app—to distill everything I’ve learned into a practical, step-by-step system. Here, you’ll find the foundational skills that have stood the test of time, seamlessly integrated with modern techniques and digital tools. My goal is to make mastering realism accessible, enjoyable, and achievable for artists at any stage.

I hope this app becomes your trusted companion on your artistic journey, helping you unlock your full potential and create work you’re truly proud of.

When I first started taking classes with David, he introduced me to a whole new world of joy! I particularly like that he has taught about the muscular system and the skeletal system, and how those structures can contour your picture. I also like how he has taken things like noses and eyes and lips and put them into different shapes - it just makes the whole picture so much more realistic!
