I always wanted to be a mom. I imagined it clearly from a young age: my husband, our kids, the life we'd build together. I never thought getting there would be this hard.
When things didn't unfold the way I expected, I did what most people do. I followed the medical guidance, went to appointments, and did the tests. What I didn't expect was how much of the fertility picture lived outside the appointment — for both of us. The everyday factors that influence fertility rarely get the attention they deserve alongside clinical care because no appointment is long enough, and no single specialist is trained across all of them. In addition, fertility has always been framed as a women's issue. Yet, it affects both partners — and the support and the emotional weight still fall disproportionately on her.
After years of trying, three IUIs, and three IVF cycles, and $100,000, we finally welcomed our daughter, Victoria.
The medical care was essential — it helped us get there, but everything outside of the medical care — the nutrition questions, the lifestyle factors, and the emotional weight of carrying it all — I had to figure out on my own.
Long before I faced fertility challenges, I had spent years learning about human health — how we eat, sleep, manage stress, interact with our environment, and how these factors shape the body. When I began connecting those dots to fertility, something became clear: the reproductive system does not function separately from the rest of the body.
Yet finding support that brought these perspectives together was difficult. The information existed, but it was scattered across different experts, disciplines, and sources. I found myself trying to connect the dots and figure out what information I could trust and what actions actually mattered. Especially when tests looked "normal," but you still had questions, symptoms, or concerns that deserved attention.
The more I talked to others, the more I realized I wasn’t alone. Whether someone was trying to conceive, considering their future fertility, navigating a diagnosis, or simply wanting to better understand their health, so many smart, motivated people were facing the same challenge: trying to make sense of complex information without a clear place to bring it all together.
That's why I built WOVA Health. To bring together trusted experts across nutrition, sleep, environmental health, emotional well-being, and more — and turn complex information into practical daily support, alongside your clinical care.
Because what happens between appointments matters. And you deserve support for all of it.
