For as long as I can remember, I've lived at the unusual intersection of humor and high performance. I started as an engineer who loved spreadsheets as much as stand-up, and I learned the hard way that technical expertise alone doesn't make ideas land. Like a lot of capable professionals, I was told to "be more authentic" and "connect better" by people who never once explained how.
So I spent 15+ years decoding it. I've performed more than 1,000 stand-up and improv comedy shows, taped a Dry Bar Comedy special, delivered a TEDx talk on humor at work that's passed 16 million views, and brought this methodology to more than 750 organizations, including NASA, Microsoft, the FBI, and the United Nations. Most "business humor" experts can't be funny on a stage, and most comedians can't translate their craft into a Monday meeting. I've made a career of doing both.
The bridge is Humor Intelligence... a research-backed framework of 8 specific, learnable competencies (Appreciation, Consideration, Curation, Creation, Performance, Facilitation, Application, and Empowerment), organized into a 4-step development arc... UNLOCK, DISCOVER, MASTER, AMPLIFY. The methodology has been validated through a research partnership with the Social Research Lab at the University of Northern Colorado and refined across 10,000+ Humor Intelligence Assessment responses. Humor isn't entertainment. It's the fastest professional communication skill you can develop to be more memorable, more influential, and more effective... and to have a better time at work while you're at it.
