I'm Kevin Hale, the creator of Fade Away Sleep Sounds and Sereva.
My journey into sleep and relaxation started in 2008, as a dad trying to get a fussy baby to sleep.
One particularly difficult night, my son was inconsolable. I remembered reading something about white noise, so in an act of desperation, I took him into the bathroom and turned on the bathtub. The sound immediately seemed to calm him. A couple of years later, I discovered that a hair dryer had a similar effect on my second son. Eventually, we were keeping one under his crib.
Those experiences led me to start recording soothing sounds and making them available to other parents. What began as a collection of baby sleep sounds eventually grew into Fade Away Sleep Sounds, expanding to include rain, ocean waves, nature, and other sounds designed to help people relax and rest.
But somewhere along the way, my thinking about sleep changed.
While creating videos for my sleep sounds, I began filming sunrises as visual backdrops. I started getting up early to record them, and I noticed something unexpected: I genuinely enjoyed the experience, and I felt better throughout the day.
That led me to look beyond what happens when we get into bed and start paying more attention to everything that happens before then—our routines, our environment, our stress, our habits, and even how we begin our mornings.
That idea is at the heart of Sereva.
I don't believe there's one perfect routine or a magic formula for sleep. I believe better rest comes from understanding yourself, making small intentional changes, and creating the conditions that allow your mind and body to slow down.
My goal is to help you do exactly that—with practical guidance, calming experiences, and routines that fit your life.
Because sleep doesn't begin when your head hits the pillow.
It begins with how you move through your day.
