Homeschool mom of 4 with a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education, helping families create calmer homeschool rhythms that fit their unique season of life.
When I first started homeschooling, I thought I needed to find the perfect schedule. The perfect curriculum. The perfect routine. The perfect homeschool day. But life had other plans.
As a mom of four, our family has navigated ADHD, anxiety, disabilities, therapies, specialist appointments, hospital visits, and seasons that looked nothing like the picture-perfect homeschool days I saw online. I also have a master's degree in early childhood special education, but I've learned that no amount of education can prepare you for the beautiful, messy reality of raising your own children.
One of my daughters had profound disabilities and spent her entire life teaching me that progress doesn't always look the way we expect. After she passed away at seven years old, our family entered a new season of grief while still trying to move forward together.
Through every season, homeschooling taught me something I wish someone had told me from the beginning: Your homeschool doesn't have to look like anyone else's to be successful. Some days we accomplish everything we planned. Other days we don't. Some seasons are filled with field trips and projects. Other seasons are about simply showing up and doing the next right thing. That's enough.
I created Homeschool Calm because I wanted to build the kind of support I wish I'd had years ago—not another planner that assumes every family fits into the same box, but a companion that helps you build rhythms that work for your family, your children, and your season of life.
My hope is that every time you open this app, you feel a little less overwhelmed, a little more confident, and a little more encouraged. That you find the freedom to let go of perfection and create a homeschool that truly fits your family.
Because the goal isn't to have a perfect homeschool. It's to build one that works for your family, in this season of life.
