When I started my first nights on call as a new intern, I’ll never forget the anxiety that came with every 2 AM page. The uncertainty, the pressure to act quickly, and the fear of missing something critical kept me on edge. Over the years, I realized that what most trainees need isn’t just more knowledge—it’s the ability to make safe, confident decisions under pressure, especially when the hospital is quiet and help feels far away.
As a practicing hospitalist, I’ve spent years supervising and teaching interns, PAs, NPs, and moonlighters as they navigate the unique challenges of overnight cross-cover. I’ve seen firsthand how hesitation—not lack of knowledge—can lead to mistakes or missed opportunities to help a patient. That’s why I started creating realistic overnight scenarios for my trainees, focusing on the kinds of calls that actually wake you up at night: sudden vital sign changes, critical labs, new symptoms, and those judgment calls that don’t fit neatly into any textbook.
This app is the culmination of everything I wish I’d had as a trainee: rapid-fire, realistic pages, immediate feedback, and practical rules you can actually remember at 2 AM. I designed it to build your confidence, not just test your knowledge, and to help you develop the instincts and judgment that only come from real experience—without risking patient safety.
My hope is that this app will make your nights on call less stressful and more rewarding. I want you to feel prepared, decisive, and ready for whatever the hospital throws at you. Let’s turn those nerve-wracking pages into opportunities for growth and mastery.
