My journey in GIS started over 15 years ago, when I realized that most geospatial education focused on theory and tools, but rarely on the hands-on coding skills that drive modern spatial analysis. As I worked with organizations of all sizes, I saw a growing need for analysts who could not only understand spatial concepts, but also write efficient SQL and Python code to solve real problems—especially as the data stack evolved with tools like DuckDB, PostGIS, Apache Sedona, and GeoPandas.
Building the Modern GIS education brand, I developed a methodology that emphasizes practical, implementation-first learning. I’ve taught thousands of analysts how to move beyond point-and-click GIS and become fluent in the languages that power today’s spatial data workflows. But even with the best courses, I noticed a gap: most people struggled to build daily habits, and few knew how to leverage AI as a coding partner.
That’s why I created this app. I wanted to give GIS professionals a way to practice Spatial SQL and Python every day, with real code, real queries, and instant AI feedback. The app is designed for busy analysts: you set your skill level and time budget, and each day you get a focused micro-lesson, a practice problem, and a prompt-pattern drill that teaches you how to pair with AI on real spatial tasks. Every 30 days, you’ll build a portfolio artifact you can share on GitHub or LinkedIn—proof of your progress and skills.
My hope is that this app helps you build confidence, fluency, and a modern workflow that keeps you ahead in the AI-augmented era of GIS. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to level up, I’m excited to help you master the skills that matter most.
