From a young age, I was captivated by the depth and discipline of martial arts. My path led me to earn a 7th dan in Hapkido, recognized by the Korea Hapkido Federation, and a 7th dan in Kuk Sool Kwan. These achievements are the result of decades of dedicated practice, teaching, and continuous learning. My recognition as a prominent teacher by the Korea Hapkido Federation is a testament to my commitment to the art and its global community.
Alongside my martial arts journey, I pursued spiritual training as an ordained Zen monk in the Korean Seon lineage. This experience profoundly shaped my approach to teaching, emphasizing mindfulness, balance, and the integration of body and mind. My academic studies at Oxford University further broadened my perspective, allowing me to blend tradition with modern understanding.
I created this app because I saw a need for a comprehensive, accessible resource that brings together the essential elements of martial arts—kicking, joint locking, weapons, blocking, punching, meditation, qigong, and tumbling—all in one place. My goal is to share the knowledge and techniques I have gathered over a lifetime, making them available to anyone, anywhere.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to deepen your practice, I hope this app empowers you to discover the transformative power of martial arts. My vision is to help you build confidence, resilience, and inner peace through a holistic approach that unites physical skill and mindful awareness.
