My journey with the saxophone began as a young musician in Italy, captivated by the expressive power of jazz. Over the past 30 years, I've dedicated my life to mastering this instrument—not just as a performer, but as an educator, composer, producer, and radio presenter. Teaching at Monash University and Melbourne University in Melbourne, Australia, I've had the privilege of guiding hundreds of saxophonists, from absolute beginners to emerging professionals, helping them find their unique voice in jazz.
Throughout my career, I've recorded over 80 albums and performed on stages around the world. But what truly drives me is seeing students transform—watching them develop not only technical mastery, but also the confidence and artistry to improvise, interpret, and create with their own personal voice. I created the Jazz Transcription Clinic Podcast to share my passion for jazz language and improvisation with a global audience, and I've seen firsthand how structured, real-world learning can unlock a player's potential.
This app is the culmination of everything I've learned as a performer and educator. I designed it to provide a clear, step-by-step pathway for saxophonists at every level, rooted in jazz pedagogy and real musical situations. Each lesson, exercise, and transcription is chosen for a reason: it builds the skills that matter on the bandstand, in the studio, and in your own creative journey.
I hope that this app gives you the tools, inspiration, and confidence to become the saxophonist you aspire to be. Whether you're picking up the saxophone for the first time or preparing for a professional career, I'm honoured to be part of your musical story.
