For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the creative process, especially the mysterious, often daunting stage of revision.

Early in my writing journey, I struggled to move beyond surface-level edits. I often felt stuck, unable to see the deeper possibilities inside my own work. Over time, through teaching workshops, and mentoring writers of all ages, I began to notice something important: revision isn’t just about fixing mistakes. It’s about stepping into new ways of thinking so we can see our work from fresh perspectives.

I created this app because I saw how many writers felt overwhelmed when they reached the revision stage. Again and again, I watched talented writers get stuck. They didn't lack skill, they simply needed a more intuitive way to approach the process.

The Illuminary framework grew out of years of helping writers shift between different creative mindsets: exploring possibilities, shaping structure, learning from examples, and integrating feedback.

My hope is that Illuminate Your Story helps you experience revision more like stepping into an intriguing story rather than a slogging through a swamp.
