Growing up as a professional dancer, I often struggled with body image, perfectionism, and being far too hard on myself. These challenges took a toll on my health and happiness as a teenager, leaving me disconnected from my own body and femininity. Everything changed when I discovered belly dance. This ancient and sacred art form became my portal to self-love, confidence, and authentic self-expression. Through belly dance, I learned to embrace my body exactly as it is and to celebrate my unique feminine power in ways I never thought possible.
My journey led me to earn a BFA in dance, a minor in somatics, and become an IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist. For nearly two decades, I have taught belly dance (raqs sharqi) to students around the world, sharing the transformative power of this art. My studies have taken me to Dubai, Egypt, Turkey, and Lebanon, where I immersed myself in the culture and traditions that shape this dance.
I created this app because I believe everyone deserves to feel at home in their body, to move with joy, and to connect with their sensuality and creativity. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced dancer, my goal is to guide you on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and celebration through belly dance.
My hope is that this app becomes a safe, inspiring space for you to reconnect with yourself, build confidence, and experience the joy and freedom that belly dance has brought to my life.
