When I first encountered XR, I was a UI/UX designer fascinated by the possibilities of spatial computing but overwhelmed by technical jargon and resources built for developers, not designers. Most guides assumed a background in coding or 3D, and I quickly realized that designers needed a different approach: one that started from our strengths and built outward into the new dimensions of space, movement, and embodied interaction.
Over 8+ years designing XR experiences for Google, Meta, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and many more - for studios like Nexus Studios and Unit 9 - I developed a methodology rooted in design thinking, not engineering.
This app is the resource I wish I'd had: a step-by-step guide that demystifies XR, connects it to familiar design principles, and empowers you to create meaningful spatial experiences. My hope is that it gives you the confidence to explore, experiment, and ultimately shape the future of design in this exciting new medium.
And now it's yours.
