Growing up knowing I was gay I often felt like I was on the outside looking in. Making friends and finding people who truly understood me was a constant challenge, and I know I'm not alone in that experience. For years, I searched for spaces where I could be myself, connect with others, and build meaningful relationships—both platonic and romantic—but too often, I found myself feeling isolated or unsure of how to take the first step. I have cultivated a core group of meaningful connections and just celebrated my marriage to my husband Diego.
My journey led me to become a community organizer and LGBTQ+ advocate, working with organizations to create safe, welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ people to meet, share, and grow together. Through countless events, workshops, and support groups, I saw firsthand how powerful genuine connection can be—and how much confidence it can inspire.
But I also realized that not everyone has access to these spaces, and that many people still struggle to find their community. That's why I created Connect & Confidence: to give LGBTQ+ folks everywhere a supportive, practical way to build friendships, boost their social skills, and approach dating with authenticity and self-assurance.
This app is built on everything I've learned about fostering connection, overcoming social anxiety, and celebrating our unique identities. My hope is that it helps you find your people, deepen your confidence, and experience the joy of true belonging—whether that's through friendship, romance, or simply being yourself.
