I work with sound as a way of paying attention. My practice developed through long periods of listening to the places I move through every day. Wind against fences, insects in small patches of green, electrical hums mixing with birds and weather. These sounds became material for music and a way to understand how environment shapes perception.
Over time, listening sharpened into a clearer understanding of how sound works, and how layers of sound shape emotion and connection to people, places, and things.
I harmonized what might otherwise feel overwhelming, listening for structure inside constant or intrusive noise. Curiosity eventually led me underwater, where I have been pioneering research of the Mesoamerican Reef in the Mexican Caribbean through sound recording. Beneath the surface, sound behaves differently, carrying distance, movement, and life in ways that resist quick interpretation. Much of my work has focused on translating those recordings into musical material while preserving their complexity and meaning.
This app grew directly out of these questions and this way of listening. It is designed to support listening first, then recording, then composing, without pushing toward a specific musical style, tempo, or outcome. The tools are flexible and open, whether you are just starting to work with sound or expanding an existing practice.
I made this app to share an approach that helps break creative blocks and strengthens awareness of the world around us. Rather than telling you what to create, it invites you to notice what is already present and respond in your own way.
