For years, my life revolved around social media. I built my YouTube channel to over a million subscribers, constantly chasing the next viral trend and feeding into the endless cycle of doomscrolling. At first, the growth and attention felt rewarding, but over time, I realized I was becoming more disconnected from myself and the world around me. The dopamine hits from likes and views were fleeting, and I found myself feeling lost, anxious, and unfulfilled.
I had to step back and question what I was really seeking. I started researching the science behind our psychological reward systems and how social media exploits them for quick dopamine hits.
