As a dancer and movement educator, I spent years trying to train as if my body should be the same every day. I pushed through fatigue, cramps, sensitivity, and changing capacity because the advice around me rarely made space for the realities of female biology — especially inside demanding dance environments.
The shift came when I stopped treating my cycle as something to manage in the background and started using it as one piece of performance intelligence. I learned to read my signals more precisely, adapt nutrition, recovery, boundaries, environment, and training load, and make decisions that respected both my standards and my reality.
Over the past decade, I’ve worked with dancers, educators, and movement leaders who face the same tension: high expectations, changing bodies, limited recovery windows, and advice that often feels too generic to use. I know how hard it can be to find guidance that is practical, nuanced, and respectful of the intelligence dancers already have.
I created Train Like a Woman to help dancers interpret what is happening in their bodies today, understand the demands ahead, and choose adaptations that actually fit. This app is not about perfect cycle-syncing or lowering ambition. It is about building body literacy, personal evidence, and self-led performance decisions — so you can train with your body, not against it.
