I started learning English at 15 in Brazil with zero resources — a borrowed grammar book, a notebook, and one hour a day. My family couldn't afford courses. My school's English classes were useless. I was spelling "please" as P-L-I-S.

I had no teacher. No exchange program. No money. Just stubbornness.
A few years later I passed the Cambridge C2 exam — the highest level of English proficiency — without ever leaving Brazil. I then spent 20 years teaching, watching hundreds of intermediate learners hit the same wall I once hit, and learning exactly what breaks it.

Today my YouTube channel has over 142,000 subscribers and 4 million views. My podcast has been streamed over 2 million times on Spotify. I hold both Cambridge C1 and C2 proficiency certificates and I'm a Cambridge certified English teacher.
